Elie Saab is a Lebanese fashion designer born in Beirut in 1964. At just 9 years old, he began drawing fashion sketches, cutting patterns and sewing dresses. After presenting three haute couture fashion shows in Rome, he presented his first ready-to-wear collection during Milan Fashion Week in 1998. Years of success followed, with Elie Saab expanding his brand through many fashion departments. In 2003, he partnered with Pronovias to create a line of wedding dresses, Elie by Elie Saab, and in 2005, the designer opened his first boutique in Beirut’s city center. With taffeta, organza, sable and chiffon, the designer uses fine materials which he embellishes with embroidery, sequins, Swarovski crystals and precious gemstones.
